Dive into the wonders of the Cornish Seaweed Festival! Join us for this FREE event on May 11th and 12th, as the tides bring a symphony of seaweed wonders to Marazion.

In partnership with Natural England, Cornwall Wildlife Trust, Mounts Bay Marine Group, and the Linnean Society, we're unlocking the secrets of seaweed to foster a deeper love for our marine world.

The festival is free to attend, but please book onto the specific workshops, as spaces are limited.

Frequently asked questions

Are the venues wheelchair accessible?

There will be five different venues with varying levels of accessibility. The Quaker Meeting House, the Methodist Church Hall, and the All Saints Hall are wheelchair accessible. The Town Hall does not have wheelchair access. The grassy Folly Field venue may present some accessibility challenges.

Is Blue Badge parking available at each venue?

Blue Badge parking slots are available at the Short Stay Marazion Car Park and the Folly Field Long Stay Car Park. A few blue badge parking slots available at the Methodist Church Hall. Please contact muriel.plaster.MP@gmail.com if you would like to reserve a slot.

Can I bring children to the festival?

Yes, you can bring children to this event. However, please note that children should be supervised by an adult at all times. Additionally, some activities may not be suitable for children below a certain age. Please check the specific event descriptions for more details.

Can I bring my own food to the festival?

Yes, you can!

What food options will be available at the festival?

You'll find a few food stalls at the festival selling vegan and vegetarian options. Also, feel free to check out the local restaurants and food shops in Marazion for more variety.

Are there vegan food options at the event?

Yes, we'll have vegan options available on the festival days (11th and 12th of May). The 99p film screening includes a fully vegan meal, and food vendors will offer vegan and vegetarian choices. You can also explore local shops in Marazion for more options. We’re looking forward to seeing you there!

What's the best way to reach the festival with public transport?

The best way to reach the festival is by taking the train to Penzance Station, and then taking the bus (15 or U4) to Marazion. Step off at "Playground" for the Folly Field, "the Square" for the Quaker Meeting House and the All Saints Hall, and "Church" for the Methodist Church Hall.
