Bass Point Fundraiser

The National Coastwatch lookout at Bass Point on the Lizard is in urgent need of repair, for which we need to raise around £3000.

If you are able to donate to our cause, or share this post amongst others who might, it would be most appreciated.

Despite the best efforts of our maintenance team to keep the building in good repair, the south-west wall – on the left hand side of the picture – has degraded to the point where it urgently needs to be replaced.

We also have other ongoing maintenance issues which must be repaired in order to prevent the ingress of water and consequent damage to sensitive electronic equipment. The cost for this work is going to be in the region of £3,000 and we hope to carry it out over the summer of 2024.

Donors and potential donors are welcome to visit the lookout at any time when the station is manned.

Welcome to the most southerly village in mainland Britain

The perfect place to stay whilst you explore our rich, vibrant and beautiful Lizard peninsula.

As well as having some of the most stunning coastline in the country, the Lizard peninsula is also one of Britain’s most botanically diverse areas. You might spot some of the rare birds, plants and sea life that live in and visit this very special part of the country.
