Housel Bay Beach

Tucked away just behind Lizard Point is the stunningly pretty Housel Bay, a secluded turquoise cove. Housel Bay can only be reached via the South West Coast Path from Lizard Point, the most southernly point of mainland Great Britain.

Off the beaten track, this small sheltered beach’s golden sand and azure blue sea is only revealed and accessible at low tide at the end of a steep and uneven path. Untouched and wonderfully wild, the bay’s crystal clear waters are surrounded by rugged wildflower and grass-topped cliffs and a rocky outcrop. Enjoy panoramic views of the wild Atlantic and look out for seals, dolphins and native Cornish choughs, known to breed nearby.

HouseL Bay can become cut off at higher tides, so please always be careful.

Please note: Dogs are welcome on this beach except during July and August (10am - 6pm) when a seasonal dog ban is in place (2023).
