Smugglers Fish & Chips
We aim to produce good, fresh and local food whenever possible in an environmentally efficient and acceptable way.
We source sustainable and regulated fresh fish caught by day boats from local harbours and villages.
Our potatoes are locally grown with seasonal variates. They are peeled, chipped and cooked on the premises for the freshest chips possible. The chicken we use for our "Most Southerly Fried Chicken" is from our local butchers in the village and is reared in Cornwall, prepared fresh and without any added water, the coating is our own and made on site.
When in season, we have specialty burgers made from prime cuts of Ruby Red Beef reared on the Lizard Downs by Roland. The beef is minced on the premises and cooked to order.
Smugglers has recently gone Carbon Neutral for our hot water and heating by installing a Biomass Boiler. We aim to reduce when possible our food mileage, recycle whenever we can and treat the environment with respect and care.
Fresh Fish that we serve when in season
All fish is usually caught and delivered on the same day you are eating it, this guarantees full flavour and freshness.
The fish is battered and fried to order.

In order to make to reduce wastage, the prime off-cuts are then turned into Homemade Fishcakes which are, again, battered and fried.
All our chips are gluten-free. Unfortunately we cannot garuntee that our chips our Durum free so if you are highly allergic we will not be able to serve you.
